 August 31 08.04 GMT until September 1 08.50 GMT: hex.41.3
September 1 08.50 GMT until September 2 09.37 GMT: hex.42.3

Hex.42.3 Increase benefits by unfortunate matters. Without fault. Be true,
move central, report to the prince using a seal.
(Every creature develops the abilities he needs and loses the ones which are
not challenged. For a healthy body and mind one needs difficulties. No
self-confidence, wisdom, skill or the ability to put into perspective can be
without experience. For a job one has to show one's credentials, the proof
of one's experience. The same goes for life.)

Sabian Symbol: Two heads looking out and beyond the shadows
(Who can see in the dark can see in the light.)
°
Changing to 37.3 The family people moan and wail. Regrets and threats.
Auspicious. Women and children giggle-giggle. In the end distress.
(Who has learned the hard way can cope with all ways. The hard way builds up
strength, the easy way makes soft and lazy. )

Sabian Symbol: A man dreaming of fairies
(As a man dreams, so shall he achieve.)

(Time is given for Greenwich Main Time. For USA subtract appr. 6 hours (11
AM will be 5 AM), for China add appr. 8 hours, for Australia add appr. 9
hours (the difference between your local clock-time and GMT). Given times
are NOT exact, they may err some in either direction. I do not know if the
most important hexagram for the day is the one of midnight, or the one of
sunrise, or two hexagrams: before and after the given time)

moving alone. Encountering rain, overwhelmed by soaking, meeting displeasure
(To be unique is to be never understood. To be unique is to be alone. You
are the only person in the world who can be you, so you have to do it all by
yourself. Everyone else will make you something else.)

Sabian Symbol: A boy molded in his mother's aspiration for him
(Growing up to a cast instead of a man)
°
Changing to 58.3 True exchange, auspicious. Repentance goes away.
(Deep and relaxed exchange makes all heaviness go away. Talking or even only
feeling the others presence puts everything in perspective. A shared heavy
heart weighs only half as much, a shared happy one is twice as happy.)

Sabian Symbol: A boy with a censer

Changing to 6.3 To feed on ancient virtue. Determination: danger. In the
end: auspicious. If following king's affairs: without accomplishment.
(Having earned one's merit is great, but don't make a habit of relying on
it. It may help you get an official job, but not achievement. For achieving
one has to renew and prove one's value day after day. Even so when one's
merits are officially approved.)

Glad you enjoyed it. My web site has been a little inactive for a while,
I'm hoping to spend a little more time on it in the near future.

No, this is not something that I've spent any time exploring. Thanks for
the pointer, I'll give it a look.

All the Best

material, moldy food. Trust your right brain-half more, it knows more about
life than the rational side. It feels intuitively what can be trusted.)

September 6 12.38 GMT until September 7 13.22 GMT: hex.47.3
September 7 13.22 GMT until September 8 14.04 GMT: hex.48.3

Hex.48.3 The well is seeping, no drinking. It makes my heart ache. One might
draw from it. The king is bright, together we receive its blessing.
(If something does not work, then look at it from all sides, think about it,
direct your attention to it. Solutions need fostering, they are not simply
there or not. Even if you cannot figure out anything, if it has your
attention, then out of nowhere some idea will come.)

Sabian Symbol: An orangutan
(Use your head. He too has brains, he uses them.)
*
Changing to 29.3 Coming to the pit of pits. Risks, and also stuck. Entering
the pits trap fall. No benefit.
(Despair or fatalism block every hope for finding a solution. Solve the
blocking of the heart, only a free heart can ever find solutions.)

Sabian Symbol: Daybreak
(Even insolvable problems change some day - maybe tomorrow morning?)

(Time is given for Greenwich Main Time. For USA subtract appr. 6 hours (11
AM will be 5 AM), for China add appr. 8 hours, for Australia add appr. 9
hours (the difference between your local clock-time and GMT). Given times
are fairly exact, they may err a little in either direction. I do not know
if the most important hexagram for the day is the one of midnight, or the
one of sunrise, or two hexagrams: before and after the given time)

Hex.49.3 Demand (or effectuate) that things be set right: pitfall.
Determination: danger. When talk of skinning has gone round three times,
there is truth.
(Too soon and too late is both wrong. Don't follow every rumor, but don't
tally either. The moment one is sure, one can act, and only then one will
find the real participants. There are no fixed rules for changes, one has to
feel one's way.)

Sabian Symbol: A volcano in eruption.
(Birds seem to know beforehand)
°
Changing to 17.3 Related to the big man, losing the small child. By
following one obtains what one seeks. Harvest: determination about settling.
(Follow what you see as big and valuable, and do not regret the small you
have to leave behind. Dedication will reach its destination and find its
fulfillment.)

(The tail of the pageant consists of those who could not resist following)

Hex.51.3 The shock: reviving, reviving. The shock moves without mistake.
(Shocks inspire to greater deeds than normal thinking can imagine. Use them,
don't let them fade away, don't let anyone talk you back to normal size.
Grasp the opportunity to give power and color to your life. Not everybody
has the chance to experience these great and often dreadful happenings,
cherish them.)

Sabian Symbol: A swimming race
(Running is a lot faster- but it lacks the expressive water)
*
Changing to 55.3 At Feng rain-curtains. At noon one sees froth. Breaking
one's right arm, no fault.
(Inspire yourself, imagine your life, your deeds, your feelings. Inspire
those around you. Inspiration is the driving power of all great things that
humanity ever accomplished. Your imagined story surpasses the rational and
normal and may lack effectiveness, but life will acquire greatness.)

I have placed a draft version of an article about the Eight Houses in
pdf-format on the Internet. It isn't completely finished yet, but I think it
will answer most questions about this system. It kan be found at

http://home.wanadoo.nl/harmen.mesker/eh.pdf

Comments very much appreciated.

Best regards,

Harmen.

poisoning the heart.
(A life with too many rules, limits, dogma's and fixed values is not alive.
Tao is not written down anywhere, your heart is the only one who knows - if
your heart has enough freedom.)

Sabian Symbol: An automobile caravan
(All going the same road, all poisoning each other)
°
Changing to 23.3 Stripping it. Without fault.
(To be yourself, live your life, make your decisions, you have to break away
from all those people who tell you how to live, or even without saying
anything, expecting you to live according to their views. Even if you choose

(There must be a permanent thread in your emotions, reactions and deeds, so
others can expect what you will do next. If there is not, cooperation or
building up a life together is not possible. And this solid structure is

emerges.)

September 13 17.25 GMT until September 14 18.02 GMT: hex.54.3

Hex.54.3 The marrying maiden waits. Returns and marries as secondary wife.
(All things come to the one who can wait. Who craves for something will take
the first-best for granted, who stays in his own dignity will get the one
with dignity.)

Sabian Symbol: A royal coat of arms.
(Some people have inborn royalty.)
°
Changing to 34.3 Small people use vigor. The noble man uses nets.
Determination: danger.
(To acquire or accomplish something, one has to make all the preparations
and then take a strategic position. No further action is necessary if one
casts one's net in the right way and the right place. The sage wishes only
what comes swimming by anyway.)

Sabian Symbol:
A large white cross upraised.
(Just to remind you how much can be accomplished without using power)

(Time is given for Greenwich Main Time. For USA subtract appr. 6 hours (11
AM will be 5 AM), for China add appr. 8 hours, for Australia add appr. 9
hours (the difference between your local clock-time and GMT). Given times
are fairly exact, they may err a little in either direction. I do not know
if the most important hexagram for the day is the one of midnight, or the
one of sunrise, or two hexagrams: before and after the given time)

The other week, I bought myself a second-hand copy of "The Essential
Confucius" by Thomas Cleary. (ISBN 0-06-25-215-8).

I'd never seen this book in the UK before, it's published by Harper San
Francisco. It presents Analects of Confucius grouped by hexagram in I Ching
sequence. I think it's a marvellous book which provides excellent additional
material for an I Ching reading.

Anybody else familiar with this book?

Regards,

Mick
