My Dream Woke Me Up

by Columbine

My dream woke me up
It fell out of my head
Out of its own Dreamtime planet
I shivered too hard, or sighed aloud
And the wall between worlds warped and buckled
And out of patchouli dust
Up out from under
The dry blocks of order that lay in a heap
It walked to my bedside where I lay unconscious
It stood close beside me, unable to speak
And there in the chaos I thought I was missing
It pulled up the blanket with physical hands
To cover my shoulders
And reached out in spacetime
To push back the hair from my face
Never stopping to marvel
"I think, therefore I am"
My audacious dream wore a body
And did things in worldform that only dreams do
And now I can't sleep any more
