Sun and Moon

by Columbine

I cried upon the shoulder of my dearest father Sun
He told me he could blind the world if I would have it done
But I would not accept his plan to make the world love me
For the problem isn't eyesight, but the rules for What To See.

I nestled in the lap of my beloved mother Moon
She said she'd capture any heart before my feet to swoon
But I would not accept her gift, though foolish that might seem
For the problem isn't dreamers, but the rules for What To Dream.
