This is my favorite piece of Rodin's work, the "Caryatid Under a Stone".

This is one of Rodin's early works. When it was exhibited, the critics accused him of modeling the sculpture directly from life, pointing to the incredibly realistic hands and feet as evidence. After that experience, Rodin began his practice of exaggerating the hands and feet of his works.
This is Rodin's "Shade," one of the pieces he designed to be part of the "Gates of Hell".
