This is the entrance to the exhibit detailing the history of the Honors of Scotland. The honors themselves (crown, sceptre and sword of the Stuart dynasty), rediscovered in the castle in the mid-nineteenth century, are displayed at the end of the exhibit, along with the Stone of Destiny, which was returned to Scotland in 1996, seven hundred years after it was removed by Edward I to London. It will be taken back to Westminster Abbey for the coronation of monarchs in the future.
