Subject: prepare to meet your doom


Lately, I've been having these inexplicable feelings of doom.

I'm either changing or quitting my job come November, so I was sorta
attributing it to that for a while.

But recently I realized that the doom sensation was almost constant.
And it was gradually becoming more noticeably associated with
vibration.  An almost imperceptible but deep vibration that I felt
rumbling in my gut and resonating with my sternum.  

And there's a hum.  A quiet sound - more of a rumble really, almost
missed amid the computer, air conditioning, and human white noise but
nonetheless persistent.

Then finally, on Friday, I left my office during the day to go to
another office for a bit.  (As opposed to coming in sometime during
the morning and leaving well after dark).

Coming from my office, I still had the vibration sensation somewhat
fresh in my mind and looking off to my right I realized...

The earth movers working on the lot next to ours had made it up to
even with our building.  And they are huge.

Hmph.
