Hell is one long line in 113'F weather after another long line, hands full of bags, arms getting heavier, back muscles straining then succumbing to a subtle but agonizing torsion. Hell is having not quite enough time to get something to eat, but too much time to contemplate hunger. Hell is an airplane seat that aggravates a sore back while waiting to take off, waiting for the awful bucking to stop, waiting to land, waiting to taxi to the gate, waiting for the touristas to get out of the way. Hell is having to wait and wait for something to load on the computer, across the net, through the firewall - stretching every task longer, making every issue more complex but not actually causing enough of a delay to switch tasks. Hell is the linear, Westernized sense of time.
