Hi there. The reason I decided to join the civilized universe and get myself a homepage is that I have a fair number of original recipes, many of them for chocolatey desserts, that I wanted to share with the world. I'll also throw in some of my observations on various kinds of chocolates and baking technique.

I've also gotten in the habit of writing a bit about each of the concerts that I see; you can find these highly personal and entirely unprofessional micro-reviews by date here, or by band here. Some of them are now appearing, in somewhat edited form, in venerable local rock 'zine The Noise.
And, completing the trifecta of my major interests, I am professionally a biologist. (If you wanted to be excessively specific, you would probably call me a developmental molecular geneticist, although I've been getting a little genomic of late.) I study muscle and heart development in fruit flies, and you can read more about all that than you probably want to here.
